Ed Johnson’s music is evocative of Brazilian pop, but unlike anything you’ve heard before. As a vocalist, he’s frequently compared to Milton Nascimento and Kenny Rankin. As a guitarist/bandleader, he produces lushly exotic, accessible sounds reminiscent of Airto and Flora Purim. His mastery of different music genres, coupled with a passion for vocal harmony and horn arrangements, blend into a vibrant, original, and contemporary jazz style.
