Trumpeter Avishai Cohen debuts compositions from his latest recording, Cross My Palm With Silver. Voted four years in a row as a Rising Star in the DownBeat Critics Poll, The New York Times compared Avishai's style to that of the legendary Clifford Brown, praising him as “an assertive, accomplished trumpeter with a taste for modernism." A previous member of the SFJAZZ Collective for six years, Cohen also plays in The 3 Cohens sextet with his older siblings, clarinet sensation Anat and saxophonist Yuval, and sometimes in the Mingus Dynasty ensemble.
