A true guru of the Hammond B-3 organ, Dr. Lonnie Smith has been recording and performing live for over five decades. Featured on over seventy albums he has collaborated with the who’s who of musical greats across the jazz, blues and R&B genres. From the drawbars to the foot pedals, Smith is the complete organ virtuoso, whom JazzTimes described as “a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a turban!” 2012 saw the launch of his record label, Pilgrimage Productions, whose first release, titled The Healer, is a live record capturing the Dr. Lonnie Smith Trio at its finest.
