Samson began performing with his father at twelve, while Amati was only nine years old. Both brothers grew up playing with and being influenced by their father and the gypsy jazz greats, but also took cues from contemporary jazz guitarists such as George Benson. Hard swinging, with swift chord progressions, jaunty melodies and bold improvisation, this blend of hot jazz and French chanson continues to evolve while keeping the spirit alive with the stewardship of the Schmitt brothers and the Django Festival All-Stars.
