Trumpeter Jeremy Pelt seems to have played for everyone: Bobby Blue Bland, Frank Foster, Cedar Walton, Nancy Wilson, The Skatalites, and Ravi Coltrane are only a short list of the variety of artists and styles that his musical abilities accommodate. In addition to leading his own acclaimed quintet and recording over a dozen albums, Pelt has been especially active with the Lewis Nash Septet, the Cannonball Adderley Legacy Band, and the large ensembles of the Mingus Big Band, the Roy Hargrove Big Band and the Village Vanguard Orchestra. For five years straight he has been voted a Rising Star on trumpet by Downbeat and the Jazz Journalist Association. JazzTimes remarks, Pelt is a technical marvel. He executes intricate solos with ease, plays gorgeous ballads in a tasteful manner, and never lacks for flair or sensitivity. Jeremy's latest recording is Make Noise on the High Note label.
