About

Grammy-winning saxophonist/composer Joe Lovano and the equally lauded guitarist/composer John Scofield will showcase a world-class ensemble with bassist Ben Street and Bill Stewart, a veteran of their early collaborations, on drums. In one of the most popular groups of the early 1990s, Scofield and Lovano were heard on Scofield's albums "Meant to Be" and "Time on My Hands."

John Scofield's influence began in the late '70s and is still going strong today. He has led groups on the international jazz and contemporary scenes, punctuated his traditional jazz offerings with funk-oriented electric music, recorded over 40 albums and collaborated with music legends including Miles Davis, Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Jack DeJohnette, Dave Holland, Joe Lovano, Charlie Haden, Bill Frisell, Brad Mehldau, Mavis Staples, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Phil Lesh and Government Mule to name a few....

All About Jazz needs your support

Donate
All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
